Woot woot!

 Just had to share Progress!!!!

The "Aliens quilt " is finally together!

I found a big pile of greys,

and managed to dig out an assortment

for the setting triangles.

I have a friend who would love a teal blue

quilt, but I am not sure this one qualifies.

It has some blues here,

And here :

but I don't think enough for my teal addicted ladies.

The top is almost a flimsy.  It still needs

the side frame borders.

It will be finished off with a piano key

border in shades of gray with the occasional

wheel color thrown in for spice!

Should finish up as queen size.
The end is in sight!

Keep those scraps flying!

Wow!  Lots of weather changes and

lots of quilting changes. Things are

ramping up for spring ! Hopefully spring

will bring new beginnings for us all!

Progress in the quilting realm too!

Accompanied by some good science fiction,

I am flying  my Alien quilt toward completion!

The joining triangles will end up being varied greys.

I chose the pale grey to let the multicolored blocks  shine!

Cleaning up the scrap table has turned out

two new items to add to my "ongoing progress list".

This ongoing scrap buster will

help keep little bits out the waste bucket!

One more scrap buster is in the

works  using solids to border small scrap

string blocks.

I even harvested some string blocks to add to

the block bank!

Make some room!

Some days you just have to tidy up!

Seems I was a little over enthusiastic and

got out more projects than I could do!

Workspace definitely needed a clean up and sort!

So... I assembled 4 of  the "Many Strips" for the APQ sew along.

They were all laid out on my block boards and

taking up a lot of room. Somewhat defeating the purpose

of block boards! I made mine from a candy box

a kind neighbor gifted us.

Then I UFOed the Lady of the Meadow.  I am

not sure if it is becoming green enough so off to

marinate it goes.

I did make sure the pattern was in the box.

Tonight and this week I will be working on the Aliens

and getting the setting pieces in place to turn it into a flimsy.

Cobble stone alley and its variation will be in progress too.

They will really clean up the scrap piles on the work table .

So I can add in my weekly list also.

Last week I finished a few!

~ Chose  joining blocks for spiderweb~
~Make extra blocks to enlarge spiderweb X
~Trim square dance blocks~
~assemble Many Strips blocks for count X

I will finish up the two leftover items and get the
cobblestone working to clear up the scraps.

~Plan and assemble a few cobblestone blocks~

Wish me luck , there may be frost
still every morning but the
afternoons are sunny and bright for
sewing in the summer sewing room!

Did you say Blue!?!

 I love blue!

I have two projects boxes with

bits left over and now is the perfect

time to use them up!

First up, a Cobblestone Alley.

Predominately blues and I may

use solids to surrounded the 3 strips sets

to finish up the block.

Then there is my "Blue Bands" box.

Lots of leftovers from the "Blue for Brothers".

I may make the same type again but change the

layout to something different , or use all blue

even for the background!

Two BC friends would like tealy

blues so that's an option to explore too!

Flimsies are piling up!

Whoo hooo!  Lots of flimsies are getting completed!

Lots of sewing days and a retreat gave me lots of

opportunities to get thing complete.

The stretched stars top is done with all the rows attached.

The String Star blocks got all assembled too.  Woot woot!

They were labeled by rows in a pile and I got it together with

only 3 little errors that were easily corrected!

Last but not least, got 5 more spider webs done for the

Alien quilt while watching/listening to Seth M's weird creation,

"The Orville". A very productive week!!

Ho ho ho! Complete!

Just a little brag for something that has taken me years!

I finally got up the courage to use my mom's crystals!

I am a big believer in making traditions.

Each year I put a small trinket or charm on our family

Christmas socks. The vinyl pocket at the top of the

stocking is for a current picture of the owner.

This on has a snowman as the recipient of the

stocking had not arrived yet ( born Jan 22, 2021).

As the family grew and stabilized in numbers ( 4 offspring)

I got new socks and continued. The earlier stockings with

many additions, are now decorations for the garland!

I finally added crystals from my mother's

necklace to the stockings!

It was a 2 strand crystal necklace, one strand

broken but still beautiful.

I added 1 for each member of the individual's family.

Even pets! They get a tiny crystal.

The remainder are stored in the bead box for future additions.

It is a joy to have complete.

Next year , I can keep her memory alive

by sharing stories with my family.
