To Do Tuesday

Today is clean up sewing room day with finishing off items and

choosing some new projects.

I went way off campus this month with my RSC and

ended up working on a wealth of green log cabins!

I have lots of log cabin tops ready and the two greens

will bring the total up nicely. Lots of scraps were used up

and the bag is empty.

All that remains outside of the drawer,

is a popcorn box of scraps and the chunk portion of the stash!

These little popcorn boxes are great for using as work boxes instead

of letting the desk or floor overflow with bits of fabric!

My retreat friends would be happy I am controlling my mess!

The chunk section is large but orderly so that is all good.

Time wise, I have been having lots of sewing time for the last few

weeks. The smoke last week keep everyone in and certainly created

good reasons to stay in and stitch!

This weeks plan is to :

~Finish up the green log blocks

~ Assemble 2 green log cabin tops

~Trim out the work box of orange scraps

               ~ Make up 2 5x5 blocks 1 orange 1 green

~ Plant the last pumpkins in the big tub

Looks like a nice plan to work on for a sunny day!

Must finish off with someone else having a great day!

Yes, three pelicans and two moose right

in the middle of our small town!

Stay safe and sew on !

To do Tuesday!

15 Minutes to Stitch

Log Cabin Bonanza

  The Zebra coordinator had

suggested some larger sizes would be well used so

these will do nicely.  The log cabins are such fun

to make that there are still a few left in the vault

to sandwich.  Last review saw a blue one,

a purple one,

and two multicolored twin tops are hiding in the back !

  There are almost enough

blocks done for a green twin sized quilt.

There are already two pink quilts complete and waiting

in the closet so I can't wait to do some more  quilting

and photograph a log cabin tower!

A real log cabin bonanza!

Stay safe and sew on!

Needle and Thread Thursday

Pretty in Pink 2

More results from the batting cutting frenzy

a while ago are finally getting stitched.

First on the table was the red  " Not Quite Postage  Stamps".

Next,  the pink log cabins were getting a turn.

They each have a single batt of Hobbs 80/20 inside.

Quilting a line down the diagonal of the colorful

pink strips seems to be accenting the colors and is

very pleasing to the eye.  I was going to add echo line, since

the light colored strips were getting left out of the quilting,

but the large cross hatch worked so well, it wasn't necessary!

These two plentiful pink beauties are destined for

the children's charity, Zebra. Here they are ready for binding.

Once again here in the blog verse, a few days time slip and...

Ta da!  They are complete!

This one measures 45" 56" and, as seen during binding,

has cute up-cycled flannel on the back to make it cozy.

Thank you to DH for holding services on a beautiful sunny day!

The next, larger one got the same treatment and measures

64" x 72" with the wonderful multicolored back that

was also shown off in and earlier post.

"

Yes these are the ones with the kicking corners,

I was certainly on a roll that day!

Now the questions of the moment, okay you from the Times.

"How many pink quilts in all?"

Four , count'em four!

And from the Journal?

"Do you have any pink scraps left?"

Yes, yes I do.

Pink is not even my favorite colour!

Yikes!  The rest will be waiting for next year's scrap tamer.

Can you guess what I am working on now?!

Stay safe and sew on !
