Wow this has been a long time in coming.
This circular Log Cabin has been
waiting for completion for almost three decades.
It was a class I took when I first started quilting.
Not paper pieced, just a curved log cabin done by
measuring and trimming each block.
There were no fabulous rulers back in the day .
I must say it waited so long because I'd gotten bad advice,
and really began to dislike this project!
As a new quilter, when my blocks
were turning out too small, I was advised to
take an 1/8th inch seam to make
the blocks the correct size.
Needless to say I was plagued by a lot of
pulling apart seams and
eventually just put the project away.
You may notice safety pins here and there.
Every one marks an open seam that
needs repaired. I am not out of the woods
yet on this one!
As it was on my UFO list and
I'm trying to catch up with the help of
Wednesday Wait Loss and UFO Busters,
it needed to be completed.
I had it long armed,
did the binding by machine
and made a label.
Now it's only waiting to have all the little seams
that pulled apart repaired
before it can achieve its final goal
of being placed on a bed.
Yay progress!
I even fell back in love with
this pattern when I saw it laid out in
the sun! I may come to love this quilt
again!
Stay safe and sew on!
