Great week for scrapping here,
and a rainy day is making staying
indoors attractive.
Lots of red 2 1/2" strips and bits were
sewn up this week, yay!
First let's talk about my scraps.
I am an in situ scrapper. I like to
leave mine natural and free range.
I rarely cut them up into useable
pieces . This makes me the project
of a few friends who want me to press,
sort and stash.
I just sort mine by color and use
them direct from the bag.
I store fabric chunks by folding
them and stacking on the center shelves
of my stash closet.
But, I am trying to be successful with
the rainbow scrap challenge,
so I needed to do some prepping.
I pulled lots of red chunks down ,
cut for a morning while listening to
a good movie, and ta da!
Lots of red squares ready!!
I cut as many strips as possible out of the chunks.
Then sewed them together into strips sets.
Cut them up into square sets and laid them
out on paper pages to make sewing time
efficient.
Another good movie and there are
lots of blocks ready to go!
bank, they are pinned up so they can
inspire me to make more in other colors.
They also inspired me to clear off my
sewing table by processing my recent
scraps. I followed along with some
on line quilting gurus and trimmed
up my table scraps !
I have a few boxes of strip sizes from
previous short lived scrap trimming,
so I can file these away for future use.
Maybe the next color will be "assorted?"
A great scrapping weekend all around!
