Preschoolers and toddlers really affect our
song choices don't they! Quilting up this
red, "Not quite postage stamp" has me singing
the color song ! The next line is usually,
"The table is reeed! " Today it is definitely,
the squares are reeed!
Here it is all ready to stitch, pins in place.
After looking at the back , I decided to
quilt from the back so all the pins had to shift.
Next off, under the needle.
Quilting up this many seams wonder, was
not as difficult as I'd imagined! The back
had the large, all over pattern and a suggestion
came into my brain to follow the pattern.
Well, that didn't work. I thought I had mapped
it out well enough to be continuous but after
twice around the edge it got way out of control.
So I switched it up and went with large overlapping
curves and it finished nicely. I will save the clouds
and crescent moon pattern for my next quilting session.
I would also like to do a simpler grid on a postage
stamp quilt so there are lots more in my future.
I am still not sure if the chunky thread used on the top is
my favorite, but I think only a quilter would have an
opinion and few of my quilts are given to fellow quilters.
The edge of this quilt sandwich got zig zag because, Wow,
what a lot of seams. 126 to be exact!
Then the line up for trimming made me appreciate the large
tables in the work space.
The kitchen table got to keep its plants!
Who doesn't love a nice straight trim!
This quilt is currently unassigned but I am sure it wont be long
before a need comes up. Just a binding decision to make and
there will be another finish for 2023!
Time slip!
Stay safe and sew on !
