Here it Comes!

Wow, what a busy time the end of the year is becoming!

Sew days, shopping days, and days of preparation for guests!

It is interesting but we all seem to love the excitement!

The weekend sew days were very productive! More about

them next post. Today it is all about the season coming up!

With turkey soup still simmering for most, my seasonal

softies are coming out today so get set for the show!

First up, this little wall hanging stays up all

year.  A good friend made it and it is like having

a visit every time it catches my eye.

My little GS climbs onto a chair and

touches corner teddy buttons every time he visits.

Then there is this interesting and memorable

Christmas window.

 My BB ( best buddy)

and I each made one at a retreat.  It was

memorable as it was it was my

first project with so many techniques.

A friend's spouse even cut wooden lights

half for the accents!

Here are some little woolly friends

that hang in kitchen. They look a bit

wrinkly but we all do as we age so we

wont hold it against them!

( I will give them a press!)

This next little runner hangs beautifully over

the basement railing.  It works from

both sides so it is a favorite.

I love the checkerboard portions too.

A tree hanging is always lovely.  One very hectic winter,

(four teenagers in house and company coming),

we managed to get all the decorations up

with everyone helping.  A visitor arrived and

commented on the unusual hanging on the

stairway. It was upside down!

This next Dresden plate was made by a crafty SIL.

It fits perfectly on our heritage wind chair.

The last two are very sweet and

sentimental . My two oldest wanted

to make something so we put

together these two flying geese trees.

The then 7 & 8 year olds quilted them by hand.

A very special memory.

Don't get too crazy this holiday season.

Take time to relax and maybe quilt!

Stay safe and sew on !

Last Stash Report of November!

No change in stash numbers but a goodly

amount  of projects are moving forward!

The pineapple quilt is getting a back, then

off to the long arm tomorrow. That will

become part of my Cozy Collection.

The black log cabin block stack is now

down to 20 pieces and the plan for

it in my brain is almost solidified.

See the two counting clips?

I may even use a  tiny solid zinger border to

top off the last of these wild blocks.

The third of the four tops made from

the big pile, is getting its color slash

border this week.  The wheel did get

reinvented a few times during this

process but by the fourth border I

really got my mojo in line and was

sailing thru the piecing.

A table runner got started but

since it seems I never follow directions,

I now have enough of a forest to

decorate the Christmas table and the sideboard!

The weekend finished up with 30 more

Terry Rowland 3 1/2" blocks so the sew

days count as a winning weekend for me!

Stay safe and sew on!
