Close to Original

A weekend stitching produced this charmer

and it was loads of fun!

This blue top ended up a small queen size

at 73" x 80".

I used 2" strips for the columns with

a 5" pieced sashing between.

The film strip top and bottom borders are

one of my favorite treatments.

The finishing on this quilt is planned to be a wide

binding. This will re-enforce the pieced

sashing strip a bit and define the lighter squares so they

are not lost in the binding.

This is not in my repertoire so

it will be a  new experience for me.

This top will go to the waiting room with

the current batch of flimsies.

Detailed notes will have to provide

me with direction when it is time quilt

and finish this lovely top.

The white squares are 2" cut and centered

in the column of mixed of blues and grays.

A bit of comparison shows that the

pattern was almost followed!

The side borders were made up of 2" squares

instead of strips.

All the strips were 2" as there

were more blue 2" strips cut in the sewing room stash.

This was such a fun project that I may make

another!  Stay tuned for an update!

Stay safe and sew on!
