A Great Scrap Burner!

 A very wet week here!

What a wonderful time to

put the worries behind and escape

to the sewing room!!

Great progress is happening on

my big string collection.

I can't wait to show this first top complete!

I have enough center, colored blocks for

3 more tops, cream corners for 2 and

1/2 square white and color for 1 top.

The best thing happening are the

crumb borders.

 They are real scrap

busters. The beige/white borders

 enhance the contrast and

definition between the scrap stars and crumb border.

 My big bin of white/cream

bits is really shrinking! I don't think

I will refill this bin with scraps although it

is a great storage unit.  Maybe a good place

for folded fat quarters and chunks.

Another project for this rainy day is the

Triangle string quilt. Lots of purple

strings were added to existing half color blocks.

Still lots more to do since

this quilt take 132 blocks to get it up

to a finished  83" x 90".

I check off the blocks complete on this

weird little pattern.  I put it in a plastic sleeve

so it can be reused for making baby quilts or

shared with friends.

This is one of my go-to

quilt blocks as you know from A Colorful Couple.

Hopefully, this one will make it to my bed !

Often this one get pressed into wedding quilt

gifts as the recipients always love the bright colors.

It is almost time to remove my temporary work space!

It is made up of cases of drinks for  an upcoming,

much delayed and anticipated wedding celebration!

I'd better move out all my block parts.

Stay safe and sew on !
