Have you ever discovered hidden treasure in your sewing room?
I was stitching up some Terri Rowland squares
and when I went searching for more parts,
a bag of graduated strips turned up !
Then I found a pattern!
A scrap spider's web from 2017!
Can it qualify as a UFO to finish? It looks like fun and
I even left a clue for myself to use solids for the kite shape!
These will be done up without a foundation. The pattern will be use
to check the scrap strips for size and a durable template of plastic or
tag board will be made up to trim it out to size. I do have a MSQ
template that will be used to cut out the kite/center shape.
This way avoids having
to tear off paper or sewing onto a foundation fabric.
There are no teenagers around to do it anymore,
we all enjoyed making a mess together, removing
the backing.
Bonus for me, it seems I've already sewn
up a stack of pieces for the web portions.
The top is already in progress! This project will use a little bit
of my solid pile too. Win, win all the way around!
Looking back, I have done a few spiderweb quilts already!
How time flies when you're stitching.
Stay safe and sew on !
