Just taking a little break from
the big quilts with some small stuff.
First up on the chore list is the coveralls.
I just need to cut off the bottoms
worn out from dragging on the ground.
There was just enough fabric left from
the cutoff to make a small cuff,
with the salvaged fabric, and they're done.
Next is a bunch of small quilts.
The Northwest Babies gives out
any size quilts for stroller use,
so it's a good spot for all my bits of quilts
that just need some zhuzhing up
to be turned into lovely little treasures.
First up is this little nine-patch.
It will get a sawtooth border from
triangles that were gifted with it.
An extra block will be deconstructed
to make hourglass cornerstones.
Tada! It was a bit more work than I bargained for,
but it turned out very well.
I managed to pull out enough flannel bits that
all of these little quilts will have
cozy flannel backs.
Next was this beautiful autumn block that
was left over from a guild table topper challenge
a number of years ago.
and with an additional border,
this little quilt will be warm and fuzzy
for a little person this winter.
The hits keep on coming.
The Discovery table yielded this big purple star,
a leftover from my star string quilts two years ago.
I must have had a late night and
made two purple stars,
because this one didn't make it into the quilt top.
A cute piece of flannel later and,
for bigger borders to be turned into a twin.
I just couldn't resist and it joined the party
as a wonderful little snuggle quilt
with cows and pigs on the back.
This sweet little four-heart square has been
wandering around sewing room.
The table yielded a little bundle of strips and, voila.
Four extra stars and one more border,
will make it a perfect size to snuggle up with.
The last one here is a beautiful, very elegant log cabin topper.
I found a soft flannel back for it that should
make it cuddly and still maintain its elegant look.
This one will be an add-on at the end,
since it requires a piano key red border
that isn't quite complete.
It is a snow day here today,
so I should have lots of time to get all these
little tops layered and stitched.
Stay safe and Sew On!
