First retreat season after 2 1/2 years
and I am getting ready to go.
I found my book, or actually a new book
since the other is MIA. It is just a little notebook to
write down my projects so I don't forget them or what
needs doing! Then, I pulled out my first project!
First up is the zinger and border for the postage stamp red top.
It will have a 2" cut border of blue with a final border
of pairs of red squares. Then it will be on a pineapple quilt
using the Creative grids ruler .
I made one for my DD's (Darling Daughter)
wedding but I would like one for our bed.
They are so much quicker using the ruler!
The final one is a two parter. I have two stacks
of softer granny squares and enough blocks
to make 2 quilts.
Each stack will have a same color sashing
and then a unique border using same color squares.
I did draw out a few sample borders so it should work?
The rainbow scrap string stars is lacking 2 large
squares so an old work calendar was pressed into service
for laying out the pieces. It was something to do during a zoom
meeting. Hopefully, the pieces stay in place for travel!
My project boxes got a snazzy side label.
Now I can pull out one at a time instead of unpacking
all of them!
It looks like I will have
enough to keep me busy for the weekend!
Stay safe and sew on !

I was very organized and intent at my last retreat. I have TWO coming up in October and haven't started my to-do list and project boxes yet.
ReplyDeleteI find last minute packing makes it like a mysterious adventure!! Very exciting with two!!
DeleteI'm off for a week-long retreat next Monday. Yea. I've started a little planning on projects but you sound much farther along. Hope you have a wonderful time! I plan to.
ReplyDeleteI too have that pineapple ruler and started one a couple years ago and it got side lined, LOL. Have fun at retreat.
ReplyDeleteI did a pineapple, misused the ruler and ended up with a queen sized square in a square wedding quilt! Actually the pineapple part ended up to be the background and all the colored parts had nice crisp corners. That is what happened when I saw a quarter in seam allowance line!. I couldn't help but follow it! This one will actually look like it should , if and when it gets finished!
DeleteLooks like you are ready to get a ton of sewing done. Hope it was a successful retreat. Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteStaying organized is the best way to have a productive and happy retreat. I bet you'll have tons of fun! Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
ReplyDeleteI use the same quilt designing program you do. The one called "Graph Paper"! What a great way to organize your proects!
ReplyDeleteWow, you are so organized! What a great array of projects. And what fun to be heading out to a retreat! I'm envious.
