What a Weekend!

 Wow, what a great weekend!

A family celebration, lots of dancing and a great time to socialize.

After many delays, we were able to celebrate the most

recent family wedding and a great time was had by all.

Many memorable moments , from a very generous

wedding crasher, a traditional Tarantella and a

cute choreographed first dance, the night was terrific!

Now, after a day of rest , I can get back into my

sewing room and enjoy some time with my fabrics.

First big news, my temporary worksurface is gone.

A lot of it was used this past weekend in our

celebrations. The rest of it will be part of the

families' wine cellar over the next little while.

I really enjoyed the sweet white.

Now what to do with all this extra room!
Next up is my latest complete flimsy!
Hooray!! The first of four string stars !
This can be my OMG till all four tops
are hanging in the vault!
There will eventually also be a RSC quilt using the
color family stars, but for now, I am going to dine out on
this beauty!

The beige border used up a wealth of beige
 and white scraps.

I used some of my stash of  " ticker tape" pieces
for the outside border.  I use my 3 1/2" x 18" ruler
for a guide to cut a crumb pieced strip to
a uniform size.  That way I don't have to peel
off paper from the back later.

The top finishes at a lovely 88" x 88".
It is rental dog approved too!

Not sure what it is about animals and
quilts, but they do love to move right in
as soon as the top is on the floor!

There should be enough crumbs pieces to
make the border for another top.  There still
is a pile of cream and whites too so that should take
care of at least one more top! Then I can try my
hand at designing another scrappy border.

Stay safe and sew on !
