Oh, retreat was good to me!
Lots of stroller tops are done up so I can get quilting this week.
The mini vacation for me is coming up,
so I'd like to have them quilted and ready for binding
before I head off to the woods.
Here's a little show of what was finished last weekend.
Found pale blue 5" squares paired with I Spy blocks,
and this little stroller quilt was the result.
Cute as a bug and fun to look at.
Next up was a visit to New York to see the
Rockettes march across the stage!
Just a few misplacements and
the garlic knot quilt top was complete.
It's just spicy enough to be fun and should be great to quilt .
The salmon were sewn up quite nicely
although one setting block did get lost in transportation.
As luck would have it,
a perfectly good triangle was found in a scrap bag
given by a friend. Spring spawning was saved!
Just look at those happy pigs in the corners!

You did have a very productive retreat. Lots of fun projects in the works.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to do a very focus sewing weekend!
DeleteYou really did have a great retreat, Deb and got so much accomplished. Fun projects. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome. I think I really just like to cross them off my list! I really enjoy that too! Turning in a good pile of baby/stroller quilts is rewarding too!
DeleteWow, so much accomplished! Great work here.
ReplyDeleteThank you !!! It is a great way to spend retirement, stitching and giving!

Love the flip flap prints on the first quilt top, and all the prints are fun on the I-spy project! I'm glad that all the salmons were safe ;) Thank you for sharing your productive week and linking up.
ReplyDeleteI know , those flip flops on fabric were a great find! Have a great week!
DeleteI just sorted through all the fabrics I had left over from 3 I-Spy quilts. You have given me some great ideas for future quilts. I love all that you have done.
ReplyDeleteThere is always something left over!!! Why is that, do we overbuy? Mysteries still remain!?!
DeleteHonestly, I don't know how you keep track of all your different projects. Amazing what you get accomplished from week to week. Yes, do have best the I Spy fabric. Enjoy the woods.
ReplyDeleteI have a book I take to retreat and I do use the blog as a good tool to summarize works in progress. I love to cross things off lists!! Happy stitching!

I enjoy going on retreats too. You got a lot done during yours. Did you make kits of what you worked on or ? I enjoy the social time as much as the quilting so I tend to bring very easy, pre cut kits. Either that or there is a lot of ripping going on!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, it sounds like you had a fun and productive retreat. I'm looking forward to seeing your quilted stroller quilts! Thanks for linking up to I Quilted This!
