Just Stringing Along!

Another quilt finished up and bound is the

first of the Spring String sew alongs.

This may be the last one for the year!

It quilted up very nicely although it was a

bit difficult to choose the quilting pattern.

The quilt has many seams and I usually try to do a continuous

pattern to make the quilting quicker and easier.

That did not happen with this quilt.

I chose a corner connector for the light backgrounds on block 1.

The outside points in both sets were

sewed into the points with loops

making sure to catch all the points.

The same was done for the four patch blocks.

Light threads on the light and blue variegated

thread was used on the blues.

Unfortunately, it also shows up

very well when a mistake is made!

One spot should be redone but it is so hard to find I

may leave it be.  I am not point it out because I'm sure a

sharp-eyed reader will find it !

Like the 8s & 10s , there is still one

more Spring Fling top to quilt.

It is pinned and ready so may be done up during the

quiet in the run up to 2026.

Have a great year end!
Stay safe and sew on !

  8. Hey Deb! Happy New Year! Do you keep track of all your quilts and if so, how? Also, do you do a year end count? Just curious.

    1. I used to keep them all on a spread sheet , but that burns up a lot of time, ( I kept checking progress and updating) so now I do it on my blog finishes page/post and can see my finishes since I document/post them soon after. Ufo s just circulate in my head and they always are like treasure surprises when I "discover" on that plays squirrel and comes to the front of the line.

  10. Deb I think this has to be one of your most beautiful finishes. I love blue and brown together. This must have been a lot of work with all of the piecing in those blocks. I missed seeing the original post with the pattern name or link. What is the pattern? Thank you for sharing on To Do Tuesday. Happy New Year.

    1. It is a design from Brenda Logan Conquering Mt Scrapmore. I will dig our the designer and add it here. The blue and brown really surprised me on how well the compliment each other! I have another of the same to quilt up. It made 2 twins with just a little adjusting. My artist DIL claimed it for her own when she saw it so yay!!! Happy New Year!

  11. Beautiful finish! I agree with Carol -- the brown works magic by grounding the brighter gold and blue. Congratulations and Happy New Year!

  12. I love a blue and brown quilt. The little bits of gold add a lot of spark to this gorgeous one. The quilting is AWEsome! I know how hard free-motion quilting is so great job on those little loops. So many beautiful bits of scrap was used in this one. Bravo! ;^)
