Well, the longarmers have come through,
and the big crumb quilt is complete.
This quilt used up a large amount of beiges
for the lattice and large outside border.
A number of people who saw the quilt,
commented that a quilt entirely of
beige strings would be lovely.
The low volume look is certainly attractive.
Each colour block of crumbs is
framed by small border of gray.
Since all but a few small bits of the fabric
was used for the block frames,
I had to scramble to find a matching gray for the binding.
My stash yielded a good match.
The quilt was bound up at
the last sew day of the year.
If you recall, I had to rework the framing of the blocks.
I'd gotten ahead of myself and edged the blocks completely
before they were set into the quilt.
I am hoping this quilt remains a keeper.
I love how every different fold shows a different color.
The look is really appealing and it really reinforces
my feeling that colour family blocks always look wonderful.

What a stunning finish on this quilt, Deb;))) I love how you used those scrappy sashings and the gray border is just perfect. Lovely work....hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteOh that is a beauty! I love crumb blocks - and framed by the gray and then the low volume borders - perfect. Congratulations on your finish!
