Guild Garage Sale , Oh What a Night!

Well, there is nothing more fun

than a garage sale.

Our guild just hosted one and wow,

it was fantastic.

I think it was just the atmosphere of finding a bargain,

and hanging out with friends not seen in a while.

Helping each other find some good bargains was fun too.

A 60 mm cutter, you must have one. This really great ruler,

got to get that too. It was a great night.

Here's my haul:

This beautiful yellow fabric,

a bit heavy in weight but very suitable for quilt backing and

some great thread and thread ends.

Thread is my weakness and I bought more.

I also found this wonderful

binding tool to quickly mark my stitching

line on binding.

Last but not least, I picked up this

wonderfully heavy pincushion.

I can just toss my pins its way and it will snatch them up.

One can never have too many pin cushions!

All the money raised go to a good cause the guild supports.

A great way to cap off the guild year and

enjoy the company of fellow quilters.

To top all off, I forgot my sweater

so now I get to go to a quilt store to pick it up, bonus!

Stay safe and sew on.

  1. I find garage sales fun, in general... and a quilt/quilting focused one would be super fun! (and a bit dangerous) LOL. Thank you for joining Sew & Tell.

    1. It was! It is almost like a quilting lending library . Everything comes around again except fabric!

  2. My daughter has long encouraged me to use a 60mm cutter as she believes they are easier on the hands. Perhaps she’s right? I love the tools you picked up – many of which I didn’t even know existed! 😊

  3. What a great idea. I wonder if my guild would be interested in doing something like that? It would be a great fund raiser especially if we ear marked the $$ to buying batting for our charity work. Must think on this a bit.

  7. What a great bunch of goodies you found, Deb! I have a 60 mm rotary cutter but rarely use it. I prefer to use my 45! Thanks for joining us at Monday Musings.

    1. I use both cutters. O e , the 65mm for yardage and the 45mm for trimming blocks. Happy stitching !

  9. Hi Deb. Looks like you found some treasures at your Guild Garage Sale. What fun! Our fundraiser in April raising over $11,000 in 4 hours. It was so much fun and allowed us to redo our ramps, railing and stairway on our little building. Thank you for sharing on To Do Tuesday 😁 Carol
