Wow, I see this year is
really slipping away from us!
I am finally ready to make a sash report.
My goal was to not buy any fabric,
but I did end up with 2 m purchased for
donation into a raffle basket for the quilt show.
Does that even count?
I also ended up with about 2 m of free fabric
from the give and take table at retreat.
It's teally ambiance was just too much for me to resist.
So my total for the year so far:
Fabric Purchased: 2 m
Fabric In to date: 4 m
Used to date 2024 : 2 m donation
6 m twin log cabin
Scraps in : .5 m
Scraps out : 0 m
Net Fabric In: -1.5 m
I've more stash than I can actually count
so this year's goal is to:
Sew it up, quilt it down or pass it on.
Sure sounds good to me!
Now, what to do with these buttons!
Stay safe and so on!

Sorry, laughing here. Don't we ALL have more fabric than we can use in a lifetime? I actually gave away a piece last week or so. But the buttons! Oh dear. I have my grandmother's buttons, probably some of my mom's and then all that I've collected. But, how can I get rid of my grandmothers? When I pass on my 'treasures' I often send a note to my daughter letting her know that I'm making it easier for her. She just laughs knowing how much stuff I actually have. Hey, small dents add up, right?
ReplyDeleteAs long as I have room, I will keep the treasures. They always spark memories and bring me joy . Just the nonmemorable is up for rehoming.
DeleteI'm feeling like I need to start this process as well. You are inspiring! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

Thank you, we are all in this together!
DeleteI don't think you should count that purchased fabric since you donated it!! Like you, I could never give away buttons. I have quite a stash. I have some fabric (feed sacks) that was my great grandmother's as well as others that I inherited when my aunt passed. I want to make something, but just can't bring myself to cut it. But, alas, my daughter isn't really into that sort of thing, so I might as well make some table runners and share with my cousins so we can all enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteI did convert my DIL so I'll have someone to clear out my stash. My aim is to sew it up so this year is a "Don't purchase much!" year!
