APQ hosted a sew along
with lots of strips and lots
of scraps a few years ago.
Well, between working,
weddings, retiring etc. ,
I missed the party!
A friend inspired
me to make one anyway.
A great weekend was spent
digging out strips, making
sets and trimming.
The center is coming along
nicely.
The design boards
I made from a Christmas
candy box, really worked
well to organize the pieces
for sewing.
This little squirrel popped up right
in the middle so I had to take care of it!
My small ironing board was just
too ratty so I recovered it!
Some reclaimed felt from a
carrier bag added a
bit of padding and
heat retention.
Then I dug thru my specialty fabrics
and found some enlightening quilt fabric.
Ta da! Cheerful and effective!
Fall is just around the corner,
and inspiration is hiding
in every box and bag.
We need to focus on
creating and caring for
those around.
Stay safe and sew on!
