Well a few weeks of intensity and
a lot of progress on many fronts!
First of all , look at these cherries!
A bumper crop this year even tho the
size is slightly smaller than usual, there
are loads of fruit!
We have removed 13 gallon bags
from this tree and it still looks full!
Over in the workroom,
machines have been humming,
seizing and stalling, pins have been dropped
and needles have been breaking!
Even with this bit of chaos, I have a few finishes.
The wedding quilt was delivered last week, gifted
and spread much delight.
Yes, they are identical in all ways except the quilting and backing.
The wedding quilt has an all over serpentine and the keeper
has this lovely zig zag in each block.
The second is destined for my Cozy Collection but
as we've seen, those sometimes become gifts for big occasions!
To top everything off, the first of the six Stash Buster Irish chains
has been quilted and... bound! Yes a real win for me!
My organization genie really kicked in and there were many
family visits, meetings and a few lunch dates on top of bright
bursts of sewing ! What a midsummer !
Now here is the show off portion of the post!
Cherries , picked then cleaned and washed.
Some pitted , some
gifted, many eaten and 2 pies!
Tops pinned,
quilting done,
some batting to be removed
(yes, your parents were correct, haste makes waste)
and bindings made.
Finally, quilts bound up and complete!
Here's a little stash report too!

ReplyDeleteI love the colors in the quilts
Thank you ! I love a colorful quilt too . I made concentrated juice from the cherries and we drink a double shot of it every morning!
DeleteThat's a lot of cherries and quilts!
ReplyDeleteThere are still cherries left on the tree! I do like the bright colors!
DeleteThose cherries sure look yummy. My mom used to bake cherry pies. I miss them. Lovely quilts this week! Thanks for sharing on my weekly show and tell, Wednesday Wait Loss.

You are very welcome. Have a great week!
DeleteCongrats, Deb! Awesome quilts in here. I love the orange one (of course) but the twins are quite a pair. Great work. Yes, I did quilt batting or backing fabric to the quilt too. Guilting. Too bad I don't live closer to you, I would gladly accept a bag of cherries. Yum! Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteThank you ! It is back to the workroom for me! I was gifted a tower of plastic drawers, which are great for holding.... more scraps!!! Fun times ahead!
DeleteWow! You definitely made the best of both the sewing room time and the cherry picking. Hope this week is just as good for progress on what comes next.
ReplyDeleteWoo, you've been busy! Quilts look great, cherries look yummy, and WOW! look at that fabric report!
ReplyDeleteYou have been super busy. Nice job. Thanks for sharing in my Sew & Tell party.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful with all the colors
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, I really love your scrappy string quilt - it looks great with the centre of the blocks being the lighter with darker scraps of the same colour around them - they look like jewels! Your yellow Irish String is lovely. Thanks so much for linking up to Free Motion Mavericks. Enjoy those cherries :-)
ReplyDeleteThe wedding quilt is shining and sparkling, what a beauty! I love the colors of the Irish Chain quilt, and its scrappy binding looks fun! Yummy cherries too!
