Sew baby, Sew!!

Well, my Wednesday Scrap delivery arrived!

Two great big containers of beautiful scraps.

I always love receiving scraps. They are

interesting since they are someone else's

choice and always exciting and much

different than self produced scraps.

Of course I had to dig right in.

I have other bins waiting but the last in

hasn't been explored yet so here we go!

One bin contained lots of lengths of yardage strips.

This quilter uses the length of the yardage for all

her quilt borders, so this pile is wonderful to behold.

A few are actually the same as fabrics I

have!  I found some real surprises!

A two toned length cut from a

border print will lend my blue squares lots of interest.

A nice pile of black strips can be trimmed up

for sashing for a 4 patch scrap quilt I have

on the go. It will be similar to this one.

A few super hero and children's prints

will get added into my growing stack for

a wild weekend of  I spy quilts I have been

planning, and oh those strips !

I can string all summer on the wealth of strips

I am pulling out of this box!!

The second bunch of scraps came via

another city from a mutual friend.

(Thank you for being my enabler!)

They decontaminated in her garage

for a month to ensure they were virus

free. There is a cute little zippered rice bag,

stuffed with patterned goodness,

and look at all this chunky wonder!

Christmas in March for me!  A great birthday month.

The phone rang while I was writing up this post,

and ... more scraps! Of course I accepted the offer

and here is what arrived.

Some lovely quilt edge cut-offs in the smaller  bag

and Ziplocs full of projects ends for me to
delight in! These two great pieces were right on top!
I find the sayings on this fabric are just for me!

Sew I should get to the machine!  First up is the
binding on this beauty.

The flannel back for the matching baby quilt is in the wash,
so the set should be complete before Adalyn gets too big.

Stay safe and sew on!

  2. How wonderful! I know what you mean -- I have certain quilter friends that I would love to have access to their scrap bins. Isn't it funny how several quilters can shop at the same quilt shop and still end up with such different fabrics in our stashes?
