Declutter Challenge

Jumping on the declutter challenge with

Karen Brown at Just Get it Done Quilting,

I am making very good progress.

Take out the trash was day 1, easy and

fast. Day 2 not so good, but cleaned out the

squatters.  The cutest is the little gnome.

It was supposed to hold reading glasses

but didn't work as well as planned.

Then a large and empty water bottle and

an empty photo /window frame. There was

even an extra monitor lurking. I decided to

cast to the television if I want a really

large picture. The monitor was also too old

to do anything but mirror my screen.

I'm still working on day 3 & 4, magazines

and books.  I have so many books that

I have to spread them out on my wall of

shelves to keep the wood from bending!

A big stack is tucked by my bed for night

reading and purging.

Still working on books and magazines.

This challenge may turn into

weekly instead of daily.

There just isn't enough hours in the day.

Here is my progress so far.

A goodly pile of books and magazines

 for donation or sharing.

A very good gleaning from the start of the sort.

I did "rediscover" some really good finds here.

Since I can't keep up with the daily sort,

I'll be putting a check list on the side bar

with the list and tick it off as I go.

There were a few categories I sorted

out during some rainy days this summer!

I did bags, (not one of KB's categories),

scissors & cutters, (I didn't do snips tho, I have a

weakness there), and quite a few household

categories! Spices, toiletry extras, and a cleaning closet.

Now I am going to get back to sewing and planning some

Rainbow scrapping for the year!  The next few

days will be stay home days since we are in a

deep freeze here. Got down to 43 below last nite.

The display on my car actually told me to

plug in a heater , too cold!

Stay frosty and sew on!

  1. Wow that's cold! Good progress on the sewing room reorganization. It's a great way to start the new year.

    1. It sure is! I am also making great progress on planning the year's stitching. I must remember to leave a big timeslot for squirrels, I do love furry woodland creatures!

  2. I'm watching the declutter challenge too, and save all the prompts for later ;) It's a lot to do every day, your idea to turn it into a weekly challenge sounds more reasonable. I share some books with you ;)
    Thank you for sharing!

    1. I'm still working on getting thru the books! I did find two squirrels but they are things I've been wanting to do so it is a win for me!

  3. Good for you to declutter and clean up. I wish I had the willpower to do that but even if I followed someone to do things in an orderly way, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't stay with it. Good luck with your books & mags.

    1. And here is me , still working on books and mags at day 14! I will get there. Any decluttering I do is a win so we must learn to beat our own drum!
