Binding , binding ....bound!

It has finally happened, the last of

the RSC string, giant stars have been

bound.  They have been moving around

the house, (with the help of my little GS)

the past two weeks. One is destined for my Cozy

Collection and the other as a Wedding gift

for a yet to be announced nuptial.

First the quilts came home to the living room,

then they were used as pillows,

then they moved to entry to welcome family,

then they got a little family of their own!

Here is a picture of the local transporter.

moved them down to the workroom for binding.

They needed some great colors for the bindings.

The  local long arm business

did the quilting with two different star patterns.

Star quilting 1

This one will be in my cozy collection

since it has a double batt.

Star quilting 2

So here is the quilt show!

The difference between these two is the placement of

the colors and the borders!

It was a great day for an outside photo with

temperatures in the high twenties.

Displayed here for a nice memorable photo session.

A few inside pictures too!

And another double picture outside!

Why not feature a few of the stars!

Lots of fun to do and even more fun to enjoy.

Happy stitching all around. Stay safe and sew on !

  1. Oh, wow! Those are fabulous! Love the border additions. What size are the stars, please?

  2. Thank you ! Each star measures 24 in. The string blocks are 6 1/2" unfinished and the stars are 4 blocks by 4 blocks. The borders were fun to do and added the extra bit to make the finished size and framed the blocks nicely. They are even kind of a ying and yang, with one having a colored zig zag and the other a white zig zag.

  3. These are great stars and made two lovely quilts. I really like the border you added. I’m making improv and strippy stars for one of my RSC projects this year.
