Brrr , chilly here! A brisk wind (44 kms!)
and -1 make for a cool walk.
Looks like winter is just waiting
to decent and make us get to quilting!
Good finish this week, a 60th
birthday quilt is all stitched up!
Two more tops are quilting ready.
My OMG (one monthly goal)
is looking attainable!
Went to a sale yesterday, it was
a garage stash clearing.
Enough fabric for a quilt shop.
The find of the day was a bag of 1/2" hexies
stitched to the papers and ready to join!
Delighted my hexie making friend.
The sale did make me more determined
to get my sewing house in order tho.
My stash got a bit of a tidy and
some appreciative looks from me
when I got home ! It is not too large,
not too small and for me ,
just about right!
I did find some beautiful blues.
The prices were okay, $8 a meter.
It seems I am not destined to find
amazing deals (like Nann ) but I do enjoy
hearing about quilters' finds.
My buddies keep me funded
with scraps so no complaining here!
Stay safe and sew on !

The 60th birthday quilt looks great, will be much appreciated listed, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to give a lasting gift and I always hear lots of comments years later about how much they love just sitting under the quilt and discovering the various fabrics!
DeleteThat is a great finish and what a great gift. I never find the amazing deals folks seem to either. But I do find good stuff at the thrift stores often. Good enough to keep me going back, LOL. Meanwhile, threat of snow here in the Ottawa Valley. How about your way?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely getting colder with snow in the forecast for the coming week. So far only a few little crystals overnight! Pile on the quilts!
DeleteCongrats on completing that wonderful gift quilt, Deb! Nice work on making progress on other projects, as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It sure feels good to get a finish now and then!
DeleteThere is a very small quilt shop on the way west to see bro-in-law, and I like to stop and look, but I know that my stash has way more fabric than that shop has. I need to get back to finishing all my quilt starts, help them grow and become what they are destined to become... finished!
ReplyDeleteSounds very chilly!!! But your 60th quilt looks amazing - it will make your person Very happy!!!
ReplyDeleteThis morning a full blown blizzard! Snow and wind gusting over 65 kms per hour! Great day to stay in and quilt!
