Be Prepared

 Imagine my surprise when I

got a , "Guess who had a baby? "

text 1 week until Christmas!  It was

a wonderful surprise. Needing a

quilt present would have presented a

problem, but ... I am prepared.

A lot of quilts were completed and

gifted this year. Some to family, some

to friends and many to others just needing

a boost and some compassion.  However,

I did hold back 2 small quilts, a pink and a blue

for emergency gifts and both got pressed into

service today!  They've already been counted

in the fabric tally but now they will be out the door!

This lovely star and 16 patch combination is one of

my favorites and fortunately both were awaiting

homes in the quilt top vault.

I found some pens,

pulled out some labels and now both Rylie and

Finnegan will have nice warm quilts by New Years.

They are  flannel backed ( the quilts, not the babies)

and will be great for a stroller ride in our freezing weather

or a play on the floor.

The stack of little stars has not diminished much

over the last months so the December lull might be

a great time to stitch up some tops for future

Canadians.  The RSC 2023 box has a nice supply

of 16 patches and crumb blocks to make a few

baby sized and even a twin sizes quilt or two.

The other big news that I am switching over

to my Christmas computer.  Soon I will be

able to zoom in actual real time!  Gone will

be the day of moving like a snowman!

I just need one little cord to hook up my

big monitor. Two is always better than one!

I can cast to my tv too so there are some

great movies and quilt shows in the future.

Have fun with friends and family this season.

Stay safe and sew on!
