Some great finishes today.
They are even bound and labeled.
These are three wheelchair quilts.
Each 36" x 45" quilt has a back pocket
and a small holiday stitchery piece since they
will be given at Christmas time.
This one has a matching binding.
I used a black binding on this one.
There was enough of the yellow left to
bind with yellow too.
These were so much fun to do and only
a small stack left to layer and quilt?!
The puzzle feeling of piecing together
orphan blocks and odd block
pieces seems to be contagious
as 2 more sewing friends are
working on these small, useful quilts too!
Stay safe and sew on!

These are lovely. I particularly like the one using crumbs. And, I'm always amazed at how much you get done each week. Go get 'em this week too!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am starting a RSC yellow log cabin today! Always more projects!
DeleteI really like the one with the colorful strips
ReplyDeleteSo do I ! That pattern is one of my go to s for a quick quilt and I had lots of parts in the block parts pile!

ReplyDeleteThank you , it does feel good to have some finishes.
DeleteOh, how wonderful! So, you take orphan blocks, create a wheelchair lap quilt, then apply a zippered pocket to the back and insert a little Christmas-themed mini? What a wonderful gift idea! Thanks for sharing this on TGIFF today, I'm inspired! Love that scrappy striped quilt.
ReplyDeleteI applique the little holiday stitchery on the back for a personal surprise. Then they are still useful all year and not too seasonal. It was a great way to use up some of my orphans. I still have a lot of block bits and smaller and some much larger blocks too!
DeleteThose are nice quilts. What size are wheelchair quilts?
ReplyDeleteQuilt size is 36” x 45” with an centered pocket with flap or zipper on the back about 6 x 8” square and about 10” from the top to hold keys, tissues, etc. Thank you and they are fun to make.

ReplyDeleteThank you, I have made a few full sized strippy quilts and they are very fun to do.
DeleteWheelchair quilts are a great idea. Are you planning to donate them to a retirement home, or something similar?
