My black log cabin is gettin' a lot of stitchin'!
All the blocks are at the black border stage and
I have finally figured out a process for them.
measure up and place an appropriate strip on the side.
An assortment of the bordering strips seem to make it
easier to bring the blocks up to size.
Lining up all the pieces to be sewn makes
the stitching faster and satisfies my need to
see some organization in the mess!
edge but the only alternative is to cut a 5 x 9 in rectangle
to fill in a sharply angled edge. Both techniques are used
in these blocks.
The next step after all 2 sets of blocks are framed in black,
will be to stitch up every nearby scrap of color into a
variable width sashing. This may present a problem as
the art quilt that is shown in my pattern is much smaller and
possibly has some fused or appliqued sashing! Forging
ahead will be an adventure, wish me luck. I am going
to make getting these all to the sashing stage my
goal for July !
Stay safe and sew on !
