Coming Along Nicely!

Summertime is so busy and time

passes so quickly!  Look at the size

of these teenagers!  No bird flu here,

fat and sassy birds all around.

Great progress on the Kid's String Stars.

All the borders are complete.

Here is a little status report.

Top 1 is complete, top 2 needs the final

border added. Top 3 needs 2 borders added

and Top 4 needs 4 more stars finished,

joining and the borders added.

The final borders are 2 types. Tops 1 & 2 are

crumb borders. They use up scraps but

I really have a lot of crumbs!

The other are 1/2 square sawtooth borders.

My box of 1/2 is still very full, but no more

square were made in the making of these borders!

A long weekend with; a dinner out, overnight

camping, gold panning, a lunch out,

 and 2 family member visits,

really cut into my stitching time!

I did pull out some colorful crumb blocks and they

may get sewn up this month for a teen quilt.

There are a few orange blocks to go in too!
August RSC color is orange, woot woot!

Jumping into sewing this morning and disaster,
my machine gave me an E4 code!  It
usually means despair as it is a software error.
A bit of searching on Dr. Google and it
turns out there was fluff in my thread cutter!

Great save!  I cleaned out the goo around the small,
black plastic sprocket and it worked! Look at
all the fluff that I got out!

Let's all clean up our fluff and stitch up for August!
Stay safe and sew on!

    1. I had no idea it built up so badly there. Now I have another regular cleaning spot! Sadly, no gold but lots of fun!

  3. I've been thinking of doing a crumb quilt, too, so your bright colors are inspiring me to get at it.

    1. They always seem to turn out well. It is very encouraging for me since I don't have a great color sense!
