Clips , hints and tips.

Sorting the remaining scraps after each

project will keep the chaos in your

sewing room under control.

Keep your binding library tidy by

using smaller bits of binding for string blocks.

Make a bit of extra binding for each large quilt .

Store the extra in your binding library for

small projects!

Make wall hangings and table runners
reversible with seasonal fabrics.
This saves storage space
and makes easy decorating by flipping
from season to season!

Categorize the findings in
magazines with coloured post its!
Green for log cabins, red for squares….

Use your bobbin count
as a measure for when
you should clean ( oil if older) your machine
or change a needle.

Best tip ever!
Use a small command hook on the
side of your sewing machine
for snips or small scissors!

Never misplace them again!

Collect errant threads on a

small piece of batting when you’re piecing.

It will keep your floor and
clothing thread free!

I tuck mine under my extension table leg
and it stays right where it's needed!
No more fuzzy socks!

Zippered bags from sheets and bedding
make perfect see thru project bags!

Flower headed pins are great for labeling
rows and ironing directions.
Just draw numbers or arrows with a sharpie!

A small roller
to press your scene is great for a
quick press instead of running to the iron.
You can buy featured ones at quilt stores
but try an art or craft supply store for a bargain.
Even a hardware store for a small
wallpaper seam roller at a good value

After repeatedly looking for my rotary cutters,
scissors, seam rippers etc.
I decided to put it all into a lovely decorative
box that I got as a gift.
This box happens to be a round box,
not unlike an old hat box.
I put all my cutting implements points
down into the box
It's a great addition to my sewing table!

Reuse plastic packaging for
free and available quilting templates.

Use orphan blocks as fantastic
appliques for plain t-shirts. Make
"team shirts" for retreat buddies too!
