More than a Quilter?

Remember when someone said," Don't ask

a quilter to mend?"

Well , of course everyone does!

Here is my most recent crazy mends.

Big, bad Boomer must have had

a wild hair!

Here he is doing yoga! (Down Dog)

He ran into the bedroom ,

jumped on the bed and

tried to dig a hole!

The duvet cover is well shredded,

and the feather duvet is being

held together with a chip clip!

Life with pets!

Upon inspection, I see I already

mended it once!

There will have to be a fabric

addition for this fix. One

more disaster and it will become

dust rags! The DIL  likes to use things

up so I don't mind the mend!

Life with pets! Now on with the quilting!

Like many others, I have

been out and about the past few weeks.

I did quilt small, with a friend in trailer.

They reside at a beautiful site on Gull Lake.

Here is my quilting " to go" kit.

Everything needed to travel sew is either

inside the machine case or bag.

The Lulu bags covers my featherweight!

I included 2 projects, one just needs assembly.

The second is all scraps so really can be

anything as the feeling moves me.

My recent finishes look like this!

Two of these five quilts got backs and bindings!
All got personalized labels.

One older top even needed some remediation!
Older UFOs (maybe just mine), often need some
TLC. The outside seams pull apart or they
get a mysterious spot from being carted
to so many places in anticipation of completion!

Finished up this beauty for my DIL too!

Layered using a beautiful matching fireside.
Turned out wonderfully!

This stack is off to Saskatchewan
 for friends and family.
So much more to share,
more posts in the works!

Stay safe and sew on !

Floral Finish!!

 Dare I say it?

Yes it is true!

The florals are done!

What started as a floral quilt or two,

turned into 6 floral quilts

and 7 floral placemats!

These 4 were finished last month.

There were more leftovers,

so these two were sewn up!

The table scraps were sewn up for
Meals on Wheels placemats!

The remaining scraps of

floral will be integrated

into the "flock " of scraps!

There was even time to get the binding

on "Big Ole' Strings!

Great finishes for the beginning

of July !!

Stay safe and sew on!

Last of the Ppppurplle!

Well a busy month of purples!

I made houses ,

and purple parts.

I found purple parts already made,

and finished up a cute baby quilt.

Located and finished a small, table runner.

All in all a great purple month!

What will next month bring!

Hot fun in the summertime!

Well, it has been really hot

here. Sewing in the basement

is keeping me cool!

I even had some visitors!

Half the family came over after moving house.

It was too hot outside,

so they came for  dinner in my sewing room.

It was  a pizza party with sewing sheik décor!

Yesterday was Canada Day here , so here is a beautiful

maple leaf quilt made by my good friend KS. ðŸ’–

The quilting and binding list is definitely progressing.

The second to last floral is half bound.

There are two waiting in the wings for binding.

The family quilt, Big Ole Strings, and

the last floral are quilted.

The stack for layering is still a bit large

but that just means

 there is more fun ahead!

So, first bindings

 1-floral #5

2-floral #6

3-big ole strings

Then, layering and pinning.

4-Teal Squares

5- Stars Above

6-Colour My Bricks

Of course there may be a few new
projects too!
Stay safe and sew on!
